issue with the HP LaserJet Pro M176n Scanner

Hi,

i've got the HP LJ Pro M176n and installed it normally using the USB connection, due to work requirement we need to install it as a network printer, and we did and i'm successfuly able to print using the AirPrint ...

BUT... i cannot scan, i'm confused as neither of the "HP Scan", "HP Easy Scan" can find the scanner, meantime when i use the scanner inside OS X System Preference, it is not working while the printer shows idea!!

Have you tried Applications/Image Capture or VueScan?

why i do need to pay for new softwares??

Have you tried downloading and installing the latest drivers from HP? You can get it here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-m176-s eries/5303437/model/5303439#Z7_3054ICK0K…

First go into the System/Printers & Scanners and remove the printer. Then instal the new drivers.

Image Capture is free. It is built into the OS. You can try VueScan on a trail basis to see if it works.
